The Current Building
Southwynd Place has offered stable, affordable, independent-living housing to Vancouver seniors since the 1970s — a quiet civic institution built and stewarded by two of the city's founding service organizations.
The Redevelopment
The Southwynd Place site is being expanded into a vibrant, intergenerational community with homes for seniors, families, and the local workforce — steps from the Marine Drive SkyTrain Station and the growing Marpole town centre.
The redevelopment continues the Society's original mission while responding to Vancouver's most urgent housing needs, and it does so on land already stewarded by a nonprofit for half a century.
Project Status
Rezoning approved by Vancouver City Council.
The project is now advancing through the development permit, building permit, and financing stages.
Current residents. Existing tenants will be relocated during construction and offered homes at Southwynd Place upon completion of the new building.
