The Redevelopment
A new chapter for the site and for the neighbourhood.
Southwynd Place will become Western Canada's largest nonprofit-led, mixed-income rental community, a master-planned neighbourhood built around intergenerational living, where seniors, families and workforce households share a single, connected community. New homes are sized for families, and accessibility and aging-in-place considerations are woven throughout to welcome seniors seeking independent living. The development will remain nonprofit-owned in perpetuity, ensuring it serves Vancouver for generations to come.
Project Status
Rezoning approved by Vancouver City Council.
The project is now advancing through the development permit, building permit, and financing stages.

Sustainability
Southwynd Place is designed as a sustainability-focused development that lowers carbon emissions, prioritizes Canadian-sourced materials, and incorporates outdoor amenity areas including rooftop gardens, native plantings and preserved mature trees that support biodiversity and local food production on site. The location steps from Marine Drive SkyTrain Station gives residents quick access to work, school and play across the city and reduces reliance on cars.
